His career as an artist took off when his painting was selected to represent the Prague’s Academy of Fine Arts, and then received an award, at the International Student Art Student Exhibition in Kobe, Japan.

In 1990, Pavol was awarded the Andrew W. Mellon Fellowship in Conservation by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where he collaborated on the restoration of the Gubbio Studiolo – an Italian Renaissance masterpiece.

He joined the Metropolitan Museum’s Conservation department in 1992 and remained there until completion of the Gubbio project in 1995.

Mr. Andrasko then launched a private conservation studio in New York, treating pieces from the Randolph Hearst Collection, AXA Equitable Gallery, Ellsworth Kelly, Sandro Chia, Man Ray and Lauder collections among many others. In 1999 and 2000, he took on a full-time project with the Guggenheim Museum, treating the works of modern art masters such as Ferdinand Leger, Robert Raymond, Francesco Clemente and Andy Warhol as liaison of International Exhibitions for the branch in Bilbao, Spain.

Since 2000, Mr. Andrasko divides his time between his own art and selected conservation projects.
